Health Professionals

We work together to create healthy communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We help to make the healthy choice the easy choice in the places people live, work, learn and play. We believe partnership and collaboration is the key to effecting genuine change.

We collaborate with our key partners across Warrnambool City Council, Corangamite Shire and Moyne Shire to improve the reach and outcomes of our work. The Health Promotion Team works with a range of key partners and stakeholders including:

  • Early childhood services
  • Schools
  • Workplaces
  • Sport and recreation centres
  • Health services
  • Universities and TAFEs
  • Local and state government (including Primary Care Partnerships)
  • Local community organisations
  • Other South West Healthcare employees and departments

What is Health Promotion?

Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions (The World Health Organisation, 2015).
